Write For Us

We occasionally work with experienced shooters, instructors, armorers, and subject-matter experts who want to share practical, value-focused content with our readers. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear your ideas.

What We're Looking For

We're especially interested in contributors who can write clearly about:

  • Handguns, carry guns, and handgun training
  • Rifles, carbines, precision setups, and optics
  • Ammo selection, testing, and training use
  • Long-range, competition, and structured practice plans for skill growth
  • Practical gunsmithing, maintenance, and setup tweaks that make a real difference
  • Training classes, drills, and skill-building approaches
  • Gear that actually helps shooters train more effectively or save money

We favor articles that are grounded in real experience, with clear takeaways and honest pros/cons—not generic listicles or recycled manufacturer talking points.

Contributor Expectations

To keep the quality bar high, we generally expect:

  • Original work that hasn't been published elsewhere (unless we explicitly agree otherwise)
  • Clear, honest disclosure of any sponsorships, discounts, or product loans
  • Fact-checked claims, especially around technical specifications, ballistics, or legal uncertainties
  • Respect for safety best practices and applicable laws—no content that encourages unsafe handling or illegal activity
  • Willingness to collaborate with our editors on structure, clarity, and house style

How the Process Works

  1. Send a pitch: Email us 2–3 paragraph ideas, including working titles, key sections, and what readers will learn.
  2. We review for fit: If it seems like a good fit, we'll confirm scope, timing, and any additional expectations.
  3. Draft and edit: You submit a draft, and our editorial team may request revisions for clarity, structure, or fact-checking.
  4. Publication: Once accepted, we'll schedule the piece, add images and formatting as needed, and publish it with a contributor bio.

Compensation, if any, will be agreed upon in writing for each assignment before you begin work.

How to Pitch MyGunDeal

To propose an article or series, email us with:

  • Your name and a short bio
  • Any relevant experience (e.g., instructor background, competition history, armorer certifications)

  • Links to a few writing samples, if available (they don't have to be gun-related)
